BOARDWALK KAYAKING
Our guided kayak adventures an depart from our commercial kayak dock. We're located uphill and next to the Orcas Ferry Landing. |
Boardwalk offers one 2 hour trip ($39) and two 3 hour trips ($49) always during Boardwalk hours (7:30 to 7:30) and always so you'll have time to catch your ferry.
Our trips are expertly crafted, fascinating and fun. We'll be watching for bald eagles, harbor seals, river otters, sea birds and other tidal sea life.
We operate only during the summer months. Unsafe weather conditions, such as lightning, winds, tide or water conditions may keep us from departing. If such is the case, we'll either refund your moneys or reschedule your trip. |

| We have four double fiberglass kayaks. All equipment is provided. Reservations are appreciated and encouraged but not required. Drop-ins are allowed only if we have remaining space on a trip and only if processing doesn't delay the trip. We ask that you arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork.
COTTAGE GUESTS pay a $15.00 launching fee per kayak per launch when bringing their own kayaks. Guests store their own kayaks on their cottage deck until ready to launch.

FOR PERSONS WITH THEIR OWN KAYAKS WHO ARE NOT STAYING IN OUR COTTAGES, there is a $25 launching fee per kayak per launch whether embarking or dis-embarking. We have no storage areas for your kayaks so it is important that you make and pay for reservations prior to your arrival and that you embark on your trip within 15 minutes of your arrival or departure. We have no holding stations or storage areas for your gear or kayaks. Only cottage guests are allowed to put their kayaks at the cottages they are renting.
Youngsters 11 and older are welcome so long as they know how to swim and have the physical ability to lower themselves into our 18" wide cockpits and also have the size, coordination and strength to reach forward and free their spray skirt from the kayak. APPAREL: What you should wear depends on the weather that day. Spray skirts and floatation vests provide extra warmth but keep in mind, the water temperature rarely exceeds 52 degrees. Thermal wear is recommended - polypropylene, polar fleece, nylon and capilene are excellent. Do NOT wear cotton garments because they will not insulate once damp or wet.

Sunglasses, hats and sun screen are highly recommended, particularly on a sunny day. On a colder day, gloves or neopreme mitts are good.
Kayaking is fun, exciting, rewarding and very memorable. It’s a beautiful bond with Orcas and Mother Nature. |
